Lying on the abdomen trains the neck muscles so that the heavy head can be held in place while sitting and standing later in development. It is therefore important to put your baby on the stomach many times daily, for as long as it feels like, as early as possible. You may find that they will not lie down for as long as or when they do, have a favorite side to look or head to. This may be due to a lcok in the neck, back or pelvis.
To crawl, where one leg and the opposite arm are placed in the floor, the brain learns to cross. This should be used when we need to go. There we put one leg into the ground and swing the opposite arm forward. In the hallway, there is a need for free movement in the neck, back and pelvis for optimal movement. Is there a lock, the body will find the movement elsewhere and thus unduly burden other joints and could create pain later on.
When the baby starts to sit up independently, core muscles are trained. The baby does not exercise when piled up with pillows, so wait until he is ready and has become strong enough to sit. The core muscle is used later in life in all situations where the body must be kept stable. It can be walking, standing, running, climbing and more. It is therefore essential to have a strong and functional core muscle. Is there a problem in the skull - crooked skull or flat rear head, it can affect the strength of the abdominal muscles.
Here the tumbling must combine all the previously learned sub-elements and put them together. Most people initially need to train in a closed link chain to gain more stability. This means that the tumble holds in your hands. However, here be careful not to pull too much upwards in the arms, as it can affect both the shoulder joint and the sensory impression the baby must use in learning the gait pattern.
We are all different and evolve at different rates, as do babies. It is difficult not to compare our baby with other people's babies, but find peace and give them time at their own pace.
Babies lie in their stomach for 9 months and have less and less room to move. This, in combination with being pushed through the birth canal or taken by caesarean section, will affect the body. The baby may have sat in an awkward position and gotten a lcok in the neck, back or pelvis, which can develop into flat rear head, favorite side ect. A vaginal birth can cause tension in the sutures of the skull, which may develop crooked skull or flat rear head. There may be an imbalance in the meridian paths which can affect the digestion or give colic.
These are the few babies who have no problem whatsoever. Therefore, it is my recommendation to always check your baby no matter how pregnant and the birth has been.
